Tuesday. Not a good day.

The day began beautifully, cuddling in bed, feeling very much in love with my Jonathan. But by the time 7am rolled around, I hadn't slept a wink and felt poopier than poop, and picked a fight with him. Of course after that I couldn't sleep so I was awake, messing around in the house all morning. I took a shower, and laid down next to Devan, who was being her cute little self, playing my Nintendo DS in my bed.

I must have fallen asleep, because the next thing I knew, Devan was crying and yelling at me to get up, telling me 'you know what momma, I don't NEED YOU anymore!' and proceeded to make me feel like the worst mom on the planet ..and I don't even know what I did, aside from falling asleep after suggesting that we go swimming.

I got scolded at work because it completely slipped my mind to help my dept. catch up on ads for an upcoming special feature. I've been sleeping so poorly lately, that i'm having trouble remembering things, even though I am constantly making myself 'to do' lists. I also had to kind of help interview/ introduce my job to someone who might get hired to replace me at work and being as tired as I am, I just could not think of anything to say and I basically just stammered and had to apologize and just tell my boss and the girl that I was just very, very tired today. Uhhh embarrassing and awkward!

I can't remember if anything else bad happened, but I think the worst part was making Devan so upset. She doesn't, of course, understand how sensitive I am about this whole parenting thing, and being away from her so much but man, that was like a knife right in my heart :(

Ah well, I'm gonna drink my delicious lemon/pear Peels, cuddle with my man (and my very persistent doggie) and try to get to sleep.

FANTASTIC PLASTIC PANTS!

I'm in LOVE with this guy's sketches. I love the little tiny feet on everyone. I especially love the one of the lady sucking her own nipple. I don't know what the purpose is with these sketches but I love the curves and the movement and the plumpness of the ladies. Click the image to see more of John Mitchell's sketches.

This blog is TIRED.

I have been posting to this blog since 2001, and never in it's history have I been less interested in it. I guess I just don't have much to say (publicly) anymore, or maybe all of the strange thoughts I have floating around in my mind are keeping me too busy to think about posting here.

It's a shame, really. I've got 2 finished pairs of socks to show you guys, and a couple more pairs in the works. Nothing crafty beyond that because a. it's summertime and I'm enjoying it when I get a chance. and b. i'm a busy bee.

Speaking of summer, when I haven't been working I've been having quite a bit of fun with my favorite people: Jon (of course) Patrick, and Jenny. We've been making a habit out of going out for half priced appetizers and drinks. Jenny and I've been making a habit out of getting loaded and giggling and asking silly questions and/or embarrassing ourselves by making inappropriate or much too personal comments.

Friday night we went out to see Clerks 2 and had a delicious dinner. Then we came back to our condo and drank these really good new drinks called 'peels' i like the pear/lemon kind. jenny likes blueberry/pom.

We watched a few episodes of "It's always sunny in philadelphia" which is pretty funny, kind of awkward like watching the american version of the Office or Curb your Enthusiasm. I enjoy awkward. I'm starting to like it more than I used to - anyone who knows me knows that I have a hard time watching comedies featuring an awkward or unlucky character like Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents, or John Candy in both Uncle Buck and trains planes and automobiles. I'm a rooter for the underdog, I can't help it. I'm getting over it though, so maybe that means I'm starting to not care about people?? I don't know.

Ok want to see my socks??? I know you do. I'll start with the works in progress, and I'll apologize in advance: it's alot harder to take pictures of your feet than it seems:

Ok. These are Jaywalker socks. The pattern never really caught my attention until I saw these (not that I'm sassy enough to wear socks like this)and instead of making them with the yarn she used, I decided to raid the sock yarn bin and use the Wildfoote yarn I've been avoiding using for over 2 years, simply because I don't really like it! No offense, Brown Sheep! It's just really splitty and not that soft. Between the yarn and the long ass needles (I can't find my short #1's... damnit) this is not the most enjoyable knit. Although I got this far while watching the Green Street Hooligans (feat. frodo baggins)and people really do seem to be crazy for these socks: see so I guess it's that bad!!

This is the Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarn dyed exclusively for Purl Soho (that I got on my pre-birthday blitz). I love this stuff and I have to admit, it's been a real challenge to not order like 6 or 8 more skeins of this stuff. It's so soft, and the colors (not this one of course) are so great! Before the end of the summer I'll have to buy the brigh red stripe, so I can make those coveted Jaywalker socks I showed you up there.

This is a pair of short row heel/toe socks in Cherry Tree Hill superwash sock yarn. I love this stuff. It's my favorite. I especially love these socks because a. I bought the yarn in Ohio and that gives me warm fuzzies. and b. because I knit them on #2.5 needles and they're very cushy and cozy. They really wouldn't be good for wearing with shoes, so they're going to be at home socks.

I knit the first sock in Ohio. All of the cuff while watching "Must Love Dogs" back in January when I ran away for a week to escape my troubles. Again, Cherry Tree Hill. I finished these socks on my birthday, but I haven't taken the time to photograph them til just now. I love them. They're at a tighter gauge than the pair above them, so they're good for wearing in shoes. I imagine I'll wear them alot. There's something (to me) about getting alot of use out of something I've knit during a hard time in my life. These were mostly knit while going through some supershitty relationship problems with Jon. The socks made it through (even though my hourglass sweater did not) and that pleases me.

I have no idea what I'm talking about here. I need to just drink my booze and go to bed already.

newz!?

I'm watching reruns of the Colbert Report where Stephen Colbert is trash talking about the world cup with Alexi Lawless. Very very funny stuff.

Wanna see what I'm making? I bought the Mason-Dixon Knitting book and so now I'm all amped up and inspired to knit stuff out of... everything basically.

I bought some cones of cotton from Walmart the other day, and I also found a nice bright green/cream toile patterned cotton and I've been cutting strips of it and winding it into balls. I'm making the tailgate rug out of the book. So far I have to say: I am in LOVE with it. Click the photo for a larger shot.

Obviously I've just started this thing. And I actually NEED it too! Our doormat fell apart when Jon washed it last week so... wow, I'm actually making something necessary.

In other news - I finally got my test results from my ultrasound, and turns out that I'm not a baby with bad gas (uh not farty gas) I have to get my gall bladder removed! I'm not psyched about surgery. But I am happy that I know what is wrong now and why I get so sick from time to time. So I'm relieved.

Did I tell you I'm going to be part time at my work? There's an ad in the paper for my job and everything!! yay! Also - yay! Summer. I like summer. Happy happy happy. G'night!

hiii guys!

Look at my little Doodle in her denim pinafore!

Ok I finished that silly little dress in May and gave it to her as one of her birthday presents. I just FINALLY got a shot of her in action. She wore it on the forth of July, and was looking quite patriotic once she put on the silly headgear that Mum-mum supplied her with. It's the sweetest little dress too, goes great as a bathing suit cover-up, and is nice and cool on hot days. It's a little short, but I think that adds to the over all cindy bradi-ness of it! Click here for another view.

In other knitting news, I ordered a second skein of Cherry Tree Hill 'Spring Frost' hoping against hope that the dyelots would be close enough to pull off my second Cascading leaves sock. Well poop.

The powers that be do not want me to knit that particular sock out of that particular yarn. Can you see how the new ball of yarn is so much more vivid and the old one looks faded and poopy in comparison? Nuts to that. And no pair of socks should cost that much money, so Saturday I unravelled my sock and decided that I'd knit 2 plain pairs of socks, and make the cascading leaves socks out of something more appropriate, like green Kroy or something. Have plenty of that in my bins.

I don't really have anything else to talk about. I'm very rambly today because I had to take vicodin and I'm a little stoned! I have a terrible toothache (LIKE SEARING PAIN IN MY JAW) and I have to go to the dentist at 2pm.

Tomorrow is my birthday, so go buy me things from my amazon.com wishlist and my amazon.jp wishlist and uhhh other things I want include tons of amy butler& kaffe fassett fabric, tickets to lagwagon and rancid at bb kings in nyc, gift certificates for yarn, a nikon d70, and the game Grafitti Kingdom so I can draw weiners and fight them against each other like my brother in law did. It was probably the most amazing and fun video game I have ever played.

*yawn*

It's that time of year again! Pre-birthday blitz. Saturday we went to NYC, more specifically, Soho. I went to have a peek at Purl Patchwork and I was NOT disappointed. Teensy Weensiest little store ever, but packed full of great fabrics. Of course I also stopped at Purl. Check out my loot:

Well Devan wants me to watch 'Nanny McFeet' with her, so i'm gonna go do that... and by do that I mean that I'll try to look like I'm watching it while I snooze (I woke up way too early today.)

your attention, please!

(Nov 19) I've been asked to make a Christmas wish list, so here it is. Click on Santa to view it!

(Dec 11) I am unable to sleep, so I took time to make the blog archives work. of course, images that were on old yahoo server do not work anymore (read: anything before April 2005) so you'll have to use your imagination. Check the sidebar for a link if you're interested.

Christmas Wishlist!

(Nov 22) There. I finally did it. Now go buy me stuff:)
.......................

(Nov 7)Take note of the changes along the right sidebar. I've been reading blogs, and that, of course, means joining knitalongs! However my next task (which will be my next announcement) is to create a holiday wishlist, as there have been several people asking for one.

(Aug 6) Hi guys, How cute is this: I have a new little niece!! Bryan and Mandie's little girl was born last Sunday (I think)

and in the spirit of utter ridiculousness, I give you, Madelyn dancing.
.......................

(June 1) Here is a little picture. Obviously, these are BF5 lyrics.

.......................

(May 23) Sup dudes? I was kinda bored last night, so I made a picture.

again. only tell me if you like it. I have a fragile ego.
.......................

(May 14) Going through a wave of depression. Don't feel like doing anything except artwork. Here are a couple pictures I made. You may have seen them, since they're meant for my websites. If you've seen them as background images, excuse the tiling, I'm fixing it when I feel like it.

if you like them, let me know. if you don't, keep it to yourself.
.......................

(April 28) Ok... I've been on hiatus. Bear with me and my broken links and pictures while I move all my junk around.
Life is good and I'm glad my site is working again.
.......................

(Jan 11) Due to real life pals/family complaining about how little real life content there is in this journal, I'm going to make a real effort to include that stuff, and not just knitting stuff. I hope this pleases you guys.
.......................

(Jan 10) Today is the anniversary of my Grampa's death. We still miss you so much.
.......................

(Jan 4) Congratulations Michael & Tiffany!!
Welcome to the family, Tif!
.......................

(Dec 30) Just two quick notes today:
1. We've got another completed Casey's Coat. click to see Vito!
2. I'll be out of town for about 3 weeks. My brother, Mike, is getting married! After that I'm going to be house sitting for my mom while she is out of town. This will not have an affect on you or my blogging, I just felt like sharing.
.......................

(Dec 2) My brother has been making me some pretty cool knitting charts. I think they're mighty awesome and I'm trying to figure out a project I can use them for. They're pdf files, except the first one (which is actually not his design, it's the work of someone on myspace.com) so go ahead and have at them. If he makes many more charts, I'll disable the links and offer the chart patterns for a small fee via paypal, because, after all, it is his art work and he deserves compensation!

(Nov 28)My little sister is a knittin' fool. We shopped all over for some good needles for her. She's been using these kids plastic-y needles that I find to be really uncomfortable and annoying. We tried some aluminum needles but they were too slick and long. We finally settled on some Clover Bamboo needles and from what I have heard, she likes them the best. She's working on a lavender scarf. I'll have my mom take a pic so I can post it here.
.......................

(Nov 28) I'm back! Christmas Knitting and yarn stash enhancement is in full effect in this house. There's a new(?) Knitting/Fabric store in the town my mom lives in.  It's called Sew Krazy.

image is property of sew-krazy.com

They are currently squeezed in a tiny location just chock full of amazing stuff! They have a whole shelf of Kaffe Fasset fabrics, which you know I loved.  They had lots of yarn by Rowan and Brown Sheep. They didn't have any Debbie Bliss. The shop is working on expanding in a new location, equipped with a beautiful fireplace (My mom and I peeked through a hole in the door) and it's HUGE. This place was great and there's a cafe called Muddy Waters next door. So this place will be perfect to sit down, relax, drink coffee, and knit by the fireplace when I go out to visit for 3 weeks in January. The building is also really beautiful and contains many other interesting shops. Check it out if you're ever nearby.
.....................

(Nov 20)Someone's used my pattern! Yesss! As you may know, Casey's Coat was published in Debbie Stoller's follow-up to Stitch n' Bitch, Stitch n' Bitch Nation. Today I was looking at the livejournal.com knitting
community and saw that someone actually used my pattern! Sweet, right?
.....................

(Nov 18)Last year for Christmas, Mr. Handsome gave me an EZ Stir. If you haven't got a clue what an easy-stir is, (consider yourself lucky) it's a device that attaches to your pots and pans and stirs your sauces for you! Ingenious! I have still not taken the EZ Stir out of its package. This year, I thought I'd make it easy on my husband and anyone else who wishes to shower me with gifts.
ho, ho, ho!
