1.30.2004

I'm really bored today. No idea why. I have plenty to do... I started my diet again, and I'm kind of hungry right now. I've been eating cauliflower. I really like cauliflower, as I'm sure you already know. I like chocolate more than I like cauliflower though...

God I'm so bored.

1.28.2004

today my class was cancelled so I finished Devan's sweater. Here's what it looks like:

I kind of regret leaving out all the bells and whistles. Maybe some embroidery would be nice?

I don't really have much to add tonight, other than the fact that my drawing class seems kind of awesome and I finally got my sketch books back!!! They were gone for over a year and suddenly they're back! Yay! I have no idea how my design/color/and gender.class.culture.race classes are because they were all cancelled for the week due to this HUGE storm that we kind of had.

I'm glad classes were cancelled, I'm pretty sick. I have a horrible cold. Jon was home til 3:30 today and he took care of devan and he made me chicken soup! Isn't that nice? Well I want to sleep now.

1.23.2004

It's 10 after Midnight and I am mad at myself for being up. I wanted to be in bed by midnight. I'm almost done with Devan's white pullover, I have about 2 more inches of 1 sleeve, and I have to still knit the other sleeve, but after that it's just sewing it and finishing the collar. I'm getting bored with it so I need to hurry up. I know I'll finish it tomorrow, unless I decide to take down my christmas tree - how embarrassing! It's still up! I need to get on the ball. Jon's working late so I should have enough time to do both unless I'm lazy.

Today I pulled out all my bags of yarn and, well, I don't really need to buy any yarn for awhile because I'm building quite a stash without realizing it. I have a huge garbage bag full that I knew about, and then I had other bags full stashed all over downstairs.

School starts in a few days. I still don't want to go but I don't care. It's something to do and it's all art classes so it should be a lot of fun.

1.21.2004

I haven't updated this in awhile. This whole month has been crazy - but in a good way, sort of. Jon was off til the 5th, but on the 4th I went out to Ohio to pick up my friend Sarah and bring her back to my house for a week. The visit went surprisingly well. I say that because A. throughout our friendship since 5th grade, Sarah and I cannot be in each other's company for more than about 3 days without getting really bitchy to each other. I guess age and distance has mellowed us. and B. I had a supreme case of PMS.

At the end of our week long visit, Sarah, Jon, Joe and I went into the city. We ate at Olive Garden, and then walked around in what felt like sub-zero temperatures. After about 2 hours of walking around, we went to the NBA store and I thought my legs were going to fall off. I had windburn so bad that I had to excuse myself to the cleverly designed ladies room and scratch the hell out of my thighs.

Sunday morning, Sarah, Devan and I journeyed back to Ohio. Upon our arrival at the stoplight at 206 and 94 in Newton, I said "Devan, how 'bout some donuts?" and she began vomitting all over the place. A "no" would have sufficed.

Once in Ohio, I headed down 224 and witnessed the most amazing sunset I've ever seen. I wish I had a camera because it was sooo beautiful.

In ohio I did quite a bit. I stayed an extra 2 days so Devan could open her christmas presents at my Dad's(Grampa chocolate) house. He gave her some cute stuff and he gave me 100 bucks. He made ribs that were awesome and we even baked cookies. My dad is pretty good at 3 things, that I'm aware of. Drinking, Cooking, and Model Cars. That's all I feel like saying about that.

Devan has returned to NJ a changed toddler. She's picked up some mannerisms, or should I call them Evanisms that I'm not entirely pleased with. She's also a lot louder and keeps talking about "Gout toe" and "amazing tricks" These things need no explanation to the people who inspired them. My finger hurts for some reason so I'm not explaining too much tonight.

So on to knitting, my favorite pasttime these days: I've currently got several projects in the works, some magic stripes socks, 2 sweaters for Devan, and an orange felted messenger bag. I've got some yarn for 3 different scarves, and I bought 3 different knitting magazines, one being Vogue Knitting which has a sweater pattern that I want to try for myself, but with less expensive yarn because hello, I am not a millionaire.

the spring semester starts soon and wtf am I doing? I don't want to go. I really don't. I had no time to myself all winter break and all i want to do is stay home for a few months and do what I wanted to do. That's all for now. I'm pretty sleepy!

1.01.2004

Jon's playing x box live and I am making farty sounds in the background so the people think he has bad gas. Am I bored? Yea.

In about an hour I'm going, along with Jon and my little Devan, over to his parents so we can eat some New Years Day feast and play some Risk. I plan to wipe the board with all of them ha ha ha ha haaaaa.

I finished my bag today. It's super cute and it has a hot pink pocket on the inside. I am either going to embroider some pink flowers along the sides of the front, or I'm going to embroider a big P on it. cuz my name is Peggy - good idea, right?!

So supposedly my pal sarah is coming over on tuesday. By coming over, I actually mean that I'm driving out to pick her up, but whatever, she'll still be here and it will be cool cuz we'll have girl talk and all of that.

Well I've been a bad bad gross bad dieter - I've been off my diet for awhile and have gained back 10 pounds. So depressing. That's not entirely accurate because I know I just ate right before I weighed myself, also I think I am retaining water.

My dad never came over. What's up with that?! Oh yea, happy new year! I have to start jogging and I have to stop being a fatso.

your attention, please!

(Nov 19) I've been asked to make a Christmas wish list, so here it is. Click on Santa to view it!

(Dec 11) I am unable to sleep, so I took time to make the blog archives work. of course, images that were on old yahoo server do not work anymore (read: anything before April 2005) so you'll have to use your imagination. Check the sidebar for a link if you're interested.

Christmas Wishlist!

(Nov 22) There. I finally did it. Now go buy me stuff:)
.......................

(Nov 7)Take note of the changes along the right sidebar. I've been reading blogs, and that, of course, means joining knitalongs! However my next task (which will be my next announcement) is to create a holiday wishlist, as there have been several people asking for one.

(Aug 6) Hi guys, How cute is this: I have a new little niece!! Bryan and Mandie's little girl was born last Sunday (I think)

and in the spirit of utter ridiculousness, I give you, Madelyn dancing.

(June 1) Here is a little picture. Obviously, these are BF5 lyrics.

(May 23) Sup dudes? I was kinda bored last night, so I made a picture.

again. only tell me if you like it. I have a fragile ego.
.......................

(May 14) Going through a wave of depression. Don't feel like doing anything except artwork. Here are a couple pictures I made. You may have seen them, since they're meant for my websites. If you've seen them as background images, excuse the tiling, I'm fixing it when I feel like it.

if you like them, let me know. if you don't, keep it to yourself.

(April 28) Ok... I've been on hiatus. Bear with me and my broken links and pictures while I move all my junk around.
Life is good and I'm glad my site is working again.
.......................

(Jan 11) Due to real life pals/family complaining about how little real life content there is in this journal, I'm going to make a real effort to include that stuff, and not just knitting stuff. I hope this pleases you guys.
.......................

(Jan 10) Today is the anniversary of my Grampa's death. We still miss you so much.
.......................

(Jan 4) Congratulations Michael & Tiffany!!
Welcome to the family, Tif!

(Dec 30) Just two quick notes today:
1. We've got another completed Casey's Coat. click to see Vito!
2. I'll be out of town for about 3 weeks. My brother, Mike, is getting married! After that I'm going to be house sitting for my mom while she is out of town. This will not have an affect on you or my blogging, I just felt like sharing.
.......................

(Dec 2) My brother has been making me some pretty cool knitting charts. I think they're mighty awesome and I'm trying to figure out a project I can use them for. They're pdf files, except the first one (which is actually not his design, it's the work of someone on myspace.com) so go ahead and have at them. If he makes many more charts, I'll disable the links and offer the chart patterns for a small fee via paypal, because, after all, it is his art work and he deserves compensation!

(Nov 28)My little sister is a knittin' fool. We shopped all over for some good needles for her. She's been using these kids plastic-y needles that I find to be really uncomfortable and annoying. We tried some aluminum needles but they were too slick and long. We finally settled on some Clover Bamboo needles and from what I have heard, she likes them the best. She's working on a lavender scarf. I'll have my mom take a pic so I can post it here.

(Nov 28) I'm back! Christmas Knitting and yarn stash enhancement is in full effect in this house. There's a new(?) Knitting/Fabric store in the town my mom lives in.  It's called Sew Krazy.

image is property of sew-krazy.com

They are currently squeezed in a tiny location just chock full of amazing stuff! They have a whole shelf of Kaffe Fasset fabrics, which you know I loved.  They had lots of yarn by Rowan and Brown Sheep. They didn't have any Debbie Bliss. The shop is working on expanding in a new location, equipped with a beautiful fireplace (My mom and I peeked through a hole in the door) and it's HUGE. This place was great and there's a cafe called Muddy Waters next door. So this place will be perfect to sit down, relax, drink coffee, and knit by the fireplace when I go out to visit for 3 weeks in January. The building is also really beautiful and contains many other interesting shops. Check it out if you're ever nearby.

(Nov 20)Someone's used my pattern! Yesss! As you may know, Casey's Coat was published in Debbie Stoller's follow-up to Stitch n' Bitch, Stitch n' Bitch Nation. Today I was looking at the livejournal.com knitting
community and saw that someone actually used my pattern! Sweet, right?

(Nov 18)Last year for Christmas, Mr. Handsome gave me an EZ Stir. If you haven't got a clue what an easy-stir is, (consider yourself lucky) it's a device that attaches to your pots and pans and stirs your sauces for you! Ingenious! I have still not taken the EZ Stir out of its package. This year, I thought I'd make it easy on my husband and anyone else who wishes to shower me with gifts.
ho, ho, ho!
