2.28.2003

I wasted my entire day. Tomorrow I am making a turkey. I have a paper two write, and two papers to start. AAAAAAAAAAAnd my guts hurt!

I guess we're going to go see a townhouse tomorrow morning. Who knows.

2.27.2003

I'm dead tired. right down to my toes. I feel like just curling up in a ball and dying. Devan and I are laying in my bed, watching the Wild Thornberries. We like to curl up in bed and watch tv together. This is just about the only joy in my life right now.

Well my problem resolved itself I guess, in case you were curious.

So I've been engaged almost a year now. We're still no closer to getting married than we were before we got engaged. Part of the problem, i think, is that no one really cares whether Jon and I get married or not, Jon included. I feel like I'm the only one who cares, and it becomes very tiresome being the only one worrying and caring. So I guess I give up.

Have you ever just really needed some time to yourself? I mean all alone? I was so used to being by myself all the time, living at the apartment. I never really contemplated the effects of having someone around all the time, the way it is here, living at jon's parents. I never thought about the affects that would have on me. Well it turns out that it's very frustrating. I just really want to be by myself right now. Really.

also, if you're reading this and you're rich. please buy me a house. i can't stand to think about it anymore.

"You didn't know that rock n roll burned"

So yea, If you haven't heard, a Great White show went up in smoke. Almost a hundred people died. That's pretty sad. My nose hurts cuz it's dry in here. I have...um.... big problems right now. ok bye!

i keep getting halfway through updating this, and then close the window because i get bored.

poopity poop!

2.08.2003

Well, we went to see the townhouses today. We saw three different models. The first one we saw was ideal. Even though it was still being constructed (meaning that it was still drywall and no kitchen cabinets yet or anything) It was beautiful. The way it worked was that you came into this nice big foyer with a cathedral ceiling, and you walked through the hall and down a step to the kitchen, dining room, and living room, and half bath. There is a fireplace and lots of big windows (on the end units) that allow for lots of light. Then you've got french doors out to your balcony. The master bedroom is on the that first floor. From there you go into (guys, this is exciting) your master bath, which features a bathtub which is gorgeous. There are nice windows in the room, and the bathtub is built in, so that there are large ledges all around for your toilotries and candles and all kinds of wonderful things. God I love it. I LOVE IT. THe bathroom also has a skylight and a cathedral ceiling. I swear to you I would take baths every night in this thing. You can get an optional jaccuzi for a little extra. From there we walked up the stairs (six stairs, a landing, and then another six) to the upstairs, where there's a large area for your washer and dryer. It goes behind doors. Then you see your second bedroom, hallway, and second bathroom. From there we went back downstairs, and from there we went down another flight of stairs to the den. The den features what I think is a bathroom (or maybe it's a closet, i'm not sure since it's not finished yet) and sliding doors, out to your patio. Oh i forgot to mention - master bedroom also has a huge walk in closet. !!

The next townhouse seemed a bit smaller to me. You walked in through the front door to your foyer (another nice sized foyer with cathedral ceilings) and you see your hallway that leads you to your basement (which would be our den) Unlike the previous model, this is underground so there are no doors). From there we went into the livingroom/ dining room and kitchen. In this one, the master bedroom is pretty much the same. Has the same beautiful bathroom. The nice thing about these ones is that there's no one behind you, so you don't have to worry about your privacy in the bathroom AS much. Oh, and the deck is off the master bedroom in this one too, so that kinda stinks. Who wants to walk their guests through the bedroom to get to the deck? This townhouse was much prettier inside. The stairs were very nice, and there was a banister all along the upstairs hall. so you could stand upstairs and look down at the living room. This aspect of the home worries me. If it were just me and jon, this would be my favorite. The second bedroom was oversized and there's an extra closet in this room large enough for a washer and dryer. While I'm sure that is fine, and we don't have to use it for that, it just seems like a huge room for devan. I guess that's nice though, cause she could also play in there and have toys set up permanently, instead of having to put them away at the end of the day. Like the other townhouse, this one has another bathroom upstairs. I liked this one a lot and so did jon, mostly because of how nice the stairway and banister across the upstairs looked. But I just worry about it. I'd rather have my upstairs closed off.

The third one we looked at is almost the same as the second one except that the second bedroom is not oversized because there is not that extra closet for w/d in there. Instead this area is just part of the large area over the master bath ( which, again, is gorgeous. i swear i'd buy the thing for the bathtub alone) THis one also has the deck off the m.bedroom. This one was almost completed, because someone had a contract on it but backed out. If we want it, because of some differences in the floor plan (this one has one stupid thing about it that the builders changed - in townhouse 2, you walk in and can go straight to your basement/family room, in this one you have to go through your garage in order to get to the basement/family room. It's kinda complex, but in reality, for a little bit of cash, you could hire someone to build you a wall, so you don't have to go through your garage to get to your family room. It' doesn't really matter if you leave it an unfinished basement, but we'd like a den. This townhouse goes for 15 thousand less than the other two because of this little oddity. There's nothing WRONG with it, it's just kind of inconvenient. We also got an idea of how the place would look completed, because there was carpet down in this one, and walls painted, and cabinets up. The living room area is pretty small so that's why we'd want a den. Oh, anoother thing about this one, is that there is no banister. YES! There are walls up and the hall is so wide that you can use that area as a computer room or something. it's exactly the alternative that we'd need to the banisters.

We're not sure if we can afford these or if we want to. We've got a lot of looking around and thinking to do before jon gets his raise. I wish he'd get it soon though, so we could, if we wanted, put a contract on that one for 15 thousand less. I have a feeling we'll lose out on these, but oh well, if that happens it wasn't meant to be. I do love that bathtub though!

2.05.2003

Well I finally did it. I cut Devan's hair. If you weren't aware, Dev's hair was starting to look strangely like that weirdo Jesse Camp. If you don't know who that is, you are lucky. He used to be (and still might be from time to time) a VJ on MTV. I always thought he was pretty goofy.

well here it is! Her new bangs! (don't worry, I'm going to have a barber touch it up, and possibly cut the length more, into a short bob or something.)::

2.03.2003

Ok, ok, i'm updating!

I just ate breakfast. I had Weis brand 'Oats & More' which is actually the same thing as Honey Bunches of Oats, but with less fat and less calories per serving. I just made some coffee but it's a little too strong again. Yesterday I accidentally followed the directions on the bag and almost gagged myself. I am going to drink like four cups of coffee before school because I just draaaagged last week.

I am so tired right now and I am already wishing that I hadn't gone to school this semester. It's only my second day. I should listen to some music right now. Last night I put 33 songs on my mp3 player so that I can listen to some upbeat music at school or something. I'm not sure if I'll even use it but what the heck. Did I mention that I don't want to go to school because at this moment (6:25am) the anxiety is starting to set in.

I have to go blow my hair dry. Last night I took a shower at around midnight and just wrapped my hair up in a bun and it's still damp underneath. I should get a haircut. I saw a cute one on the cover of Woman's Day (or some other women's magazine) when I was in line at the grocery store.

My throat hurts. Jon and I are now looking for a reasonably (hahahah) priced condo in the area. There are beautiful ones at Indian Field (I think that's what it's called) In Hardyston, but they are going for around 200,000 and that's a little too much to pay for a condo. sorry.

If devan were awake, I'd go get a book out of the closet in case my spanish prof. isn't there again today. She wasn't there on wednesday and I had to sit around bored to tears for an hour with nothing to do. Barf. I don't want to goooo. Why does everyone make a big deal about going to college? I kind of hate it and hate myself when I'm going because I turn into a monster. I mean I guess I'm kind of a monster anyways, but it seems to be much worse when I'm going to classes.

Oh, Don't listen to Johnny Cash - Hurt. It's very good and I like it a lot, but I'm never listening to it again because it's just about the most depressing thing EVER. OK? Where are my Johnny cash shirts anyways.......

(Nov 19) I've been asked to make a Christmas wish list, so here it is. Click on Santa to view it!

(Dec 11) I am unable to sleep, so I took time to make the blog archives work. of course, images that were on old yahoo server do not work anymore (read: anything before April 2005) so you'll have to use your imagination. Check the sidebar for a link if you're interested.

Christmas Wishlist!

(Nov 22) There. I finally did it. Now go buy me stuff:)
.......................

(Nov 7)Take note of the changes along the right sidebar. I've been reading blogs, and that, of course, means joining knitalongs! However my next task (which will be my next announcement) is to create a holiday wishlist, as there have been several people asking for one.

(Aug 6) Hi guys, How cute is this: I have a new little niece!! Bryan and Mandie's little girl was born last Sunday (I think)

and in the spirit of utter ridiculousness, I give you, Madelyn dancing.

(May 23) Sup dudes? I was kinda bored last night, so I made a picture.

again. only tell me if you like it. I have a fragile ego.

(May 14) Going through a wave of depression. Don't feel like doing anything except artwork. Here are a couple pictures I made. You may have seen them, since they're meant for my websites. If you've seen them as background images, excuse the tiling, I'm fixing it when I feel like it.

if you like them, let me know. if you don't, keep it to yourself.

(April 28) Ok... I've been on hiatus. Bear with me and my broken links and pictures while I move all my junk around.
Life is good and I'm glad my site is working again.
.......................

(Jan 11) Due to real life pals/family complaining about how little real life content there is in this journal, I'm going to make a real effort to include that stuff, and not just knitting stuff. I hope this pleases you guys.
.......................

(Jan 10) Today is the anniversary of my Grampa's death. We still miss you so much.
.......................

(Jan 4) Congratulations Michael & Tiffany!!
Welcome to the family, Tif!

(Dec 30) Just two quick notes today:
1. We've got another completed Casey's Coat. click to see Vito!
2. I'll be out of town for about 3 weeks. My brother, Mike, is getting married! After that I'm going to be house sitting for my mom while she is out of town. This will not have an affect on you or my blogging, I just felt like sharing.
.......................

(Dec 2) My brother has been making me some pretty cool knitting charts. I think they're mighty awesome and I'm trying to figure out a project I can use them for. They're pdf files, except the first one (which is actually not his design, it's the work of someone on myspace.com) so go ahead and have at them. If he makes many more charts, I'll disable the links and offer the chart patterns for a small fee via paypal, because, after all, it is his art work and he deserves compensation!

(Nov 28)My little sister is a knittin' fool. We shopped all over for some good needles for her. She's been using these kids plastic-y needles that I find to be really uncomfortable and annoying. We tried some aluminum needles but they were too slick and long. We finally settled on some Clover Bamboo needles and from what I have heard, she likes them the best. She's working on a lavender scarf. I'll have my mom take a pic so I can post it here.

(Nov 28) I'm back! Christmas Knitting and yarn stash enhancement is in full effect in this house. There's a new(?) Knitting/Fabric store in the town my mom lives in.  It's called Sew Krazy.

image is property of sew-krazy.com

They are currently squeezed in a tiny location just chock full of amazing stuff! They have a whole shelf of Kaffe Fasset fabrics, which you know I loved.  They had lots of yarn by Rowan and Brown Sheep. They didn't have any Debbie Bliss. The shop is working on expanding in a new location, equipped with a beautiful fireplace (My mom and I peeked through a hole in the door) and it's HUGE. This place was great and there's a cafe called Muddy Waters next door. So this place will be perfect to sit down, relax, drink coffee, and knit by the fireplace when I go out to visit for 3 weeks in January. The building is also really beautiful and contains many other interesting shops. Check it out if you're ever nearby.
.....................

(Nov 20)Someone's used my pattern! Yesss! As you may know, Casey's Coat was published in Debbie Stoller's follow-up to Stitch n' Bitch, Stitch n' Bitch Nation. Today I was looking at the livejournal.com knitting
community and saw that someone actually used my pattern! Sweet, right?

(Nov 18)Last year for Christmas, Mr. Handsome gave me an EZ Stir. If you haven't got a clue what an easy-stir is, (consider yourself lucky) it's a device that attaches to your pots and pans and stirs your sauces for you! Ingenious! I have still not taken the EZ Stir out of its package. This year, I thought I'd make it easy on my husband and anyone else who wishes to shower me with gifts.
ho, ho, ho!
