I can't believe Christmas is over. The whole season went way too fast this year. Did I mention that my art prof LOST my sketchbooks? I'm not usually the internet abbreviation type, but WTF?! I was the only person in the class who didn't get theirs back. My sketches of devan were in there and I'm kind of sad about the whole thing.
Jon and I have recently discovered the 'Joys of coffee'. We've been frequenting Dunkin Donuts and I even bought myself a Gevalia coffee (oops, I mean 'kaffe' or whatever stupid fancy name it is) maker. I think their coffee is bitter but I'm strangely drawn to it. I know, I know, I have always said that I hate coffee and everything, but I guess I've finally acquired a taste for it and now I can't stop drinking it. Watch me get pregnant now so I can't drink it.
Well, I know I started this entry by talking about Christmas, and then moved on to coffee, but I really wasn't done talking about christmas. I really enjoyed Christmas eve and Christmas day. On christmas eve eve, I baked several dozen cookies. 3 varieties - Gingerbread men, chocolate chip, and peanut butter with hershey kisses. They were all pretty good. I drew funny faces and bowties and stuff on the gingerbread men. It was fun. I gave some frowny faces and buggy eyes.
On christmas eve, I roasted a 20# turkey. It was a beaut. I have only roasted 1 other turkey in my life, and when I finally took it out of the oven, all of the meat was on the bottom of the pan, and I was staring at a turkey's breast bone. It wasn't serving platter friendly. This year, my friends, it was beautiful. All golden brown and wonderful looking, and none of bones were poking out. I also made mashed potatoes and gravy, and fresh green beans with fresh garlic and onions. I forgot to make stuffing but who really cares, ya know? So that was fun. Then we watched Black Sheep! "I've got dibs on top bunk! haha!"
On christmas day I woke up feeling sickly. We opened presents. I got a lot of books and some stuff from martha stewart. Jon gave me E.A. Green tea perfume, which i love, and a mint ice cream scented candle. He gave me lots of other things too, like the Royal Tennenbaums DVD and a handbag... Oh, I nearly forgot all of the wonderful socks I got this year! I got a pair of hot pink shaggy fur socks, knitted socks with kittens on them, wonderful thick cozy gray socks with dogs and dog paw prints on them (my favorites so far) and a black comfortable pair with cats all over them. Oh, and I got my favorite candle of all : Wedding Day from the Yankee Candle store. I love it.
We came home and i fell asleep on the couch because I didn't feel good. Then I heated up some mashed potatoes and gravy and I think I went to bed a little after that. I spent the day after christmas curled up on the couch with a book (the nanny diaries - it's okay. kind of appauling at times, though) when I got through cleaning up and playing with devan.
On the 27th, we went to see LOTR - Two Towers (again). It was OK (again) not as good as the first time, because the running dwarf jokes started to get on my nerves. Plus i wondered if the black people in front of us were offended by the fact that there are NO black people in the LOTR movies. I am kinda curious what the heck is up with that. And what the heck is up with frodo being such a wuss? He always screws everything up. Gollum's like, don't look at the lights and of course frodo looks at the lights and that creepy dead guy in the bog tries to take him or whatever. It's like... i don't know. I feel really dorky for even talking about this movie so I'm done.
Oh. I almost forgot one of the best gifts of all!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jon's aunt Dee gave me an unopened box of NKOTB trading cards and an NKOTB novel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SWEET!
yah... my e-mail isn't working and it's really annoying me because i have a final due today and I emailed my prof. with a question about it and i've not gotten a reply.
So I made some wishlists. I have one at amazon.com which you can find by entering my e-mail address (pwuebker@earthlink.net) and I have another at marthastewart.com which can be found by typing in my last name (wuebker). So if you want to buy me stuff, I think this is the easiest way!!!!!
I changed my site a little more. I kind of hate all the old stuff and some of the new stuff, but there's so much that I'm a little overwhelmed. The first changes i made were messed up when I viewed them at 600x800 res. but looked fine at 1024x768, which is what I work with.
I did my weigh in. I lost 5 lbs this week for a total loss of 7 lbs so far! I'm proud of myself! I've been on the program since Tues, Nov 19, 2002.
i changed my site a little. i guess youhave to refresh the pages in order to see the changes.
i guess the biggest changes are on the first page. bye. Oh, i've lost 5lbs.
I've not done very much today. I did some laundry, made my bed and cleaned a little. I don't know why I am still feeling so crappy. I wish the stupid stuffed up nose and scratchy throat would go away.
I am listening to Silence is Golden (frankie valli & the 4 seasons). Today I made some peppermint (guest sized) soap, to test out my new supplies. It smells allright. I want to make some orange soap cause my oil smells SO good. Smells like you just cut an orange in half. WElllll anyhoo, I gotta be going. My class was cancelled because of the snow and I have lots and lots of things to do right now. bye.
Ok. so I've lost 4lbs total. I guess all my bloating or whatever has finally gone away for the month. I am eating a little bowl of doritos. They are salsa flavored. They are HOTTTTTT. My throat is killing me so I keep half chewing the doritos and then swollowing them to scratch my throat.
I hate george bush jr.
I updated my site a little yesterday. I want a house. blah blah.
I started weight watchers two weeks ago. In the first week I gained 1 lb, and then lost 3. So from my starting weight, I lost 2 lbs. Last night I weighed myself, and I was back at my starting weight. I figured this must be because of thanksgiving. Well, i weighed in today and I lost 2 lbs. So I didn't gain after all, and that's all i care about.
I am in the middle of my report on Nickel and Dimed. I loved this book, but for whatever reason, I keep allowing myself to be distracted.
I love my fiance, by the way. He's so cute and funny. I like to watch him when he can't see me watching him. I was just peeking at him while he read a book to Devan.
Lorraine Brocco was on Martha Stewart last night and she was hilarious. Instead of doing my homework at my mom's I watched HGTV all weekend. I'm a moron. I'm back home. I'm sad about that. a 3 or 4 day visit just isn't enough. I had such a good time doing nothing.
(Nov 19)
I've been asked to make a Christmas wish list, so here it is. Click on
Santa to view it!
(Dec 11)
I am unable to sleep, so I took time to make the blog archives work. of course, images that were on old yahoo server do not work anymore (read: anything before April 2005) so you'll have to use your imagination. Check the sidebar for a link if you're interested.

(Nov 22)
There. I finally did it. Now go buy me stuff:)
.......................
(Nov 7)Take note of the changes along the right sidebar. I've been reading blogs, and that, of course, means joining knitalongs!
However my next task (which will be my next announcement)
is to create a holiday wishlist, as there have been several people asking for one.

(Aug 6) Hi guys, How cute is this: I have a new little niece!! Bryan and Mandie's little girl was born last Sunday (I think)
and in the spirit of utter ridiculousness, I give you, Madelyn dancing.

(May
23) Sup dudes? I was kinda bored last night, so I made a picture.
again. only tell me if you like it. I have a fragile ego.

(May
14) Going through a wave of depression. Don't feel like
doing anything except artwork. Here are a couple
pictures I made. You may have seen them, since they're
meant for my websites. If you've seen them as background
images, excuse the tiling, I'm fixing it when I feel
like it.
if you like them, let me know. if you don't, keep it to
yourself.

(April 28) Ok... I've been on hiatus. Bear with me and
my broken links and pictures while I move all my junk
around.
Life is good and I'm glad my site is working again.

(Jan 11) Due to real life
pals/family complaining about how little real life
content there is in this journal, I'm going to make a
real effort to include that stuff, and not just knitting
stuff. I hope this pleases you guys.

(Jan 10) Today is the
anniversary of my Grampa's death. We still miss you so
much.

(Jan 4) Congratulations
Michael & Tiffany!!
Welcome to the family,

(Dec 30) Just two quick
notes today:
1. We've got another
completed Casey's Coat.
2. I'll be out of town
for about 3 weeks. My brother, Mike, is getting married!
After that I'm going to be house sitting for my mom
while she is out of town. This will not have an affect
on you or my blogging, I just felt like sharing.

(Dec 2) My brother has
been making me some pretty cool knitting charts. I think
they're mighty awesome and I'm trying to figure out a
project I can use them for. They're pdf files, except
the first one (which is actually not his design, it's
the work of someone on myspace.com) so go ahead and have
at them. If he makes many more charts, I'll disable the
links and offer the chart patterns for a small fee via
paypal, because, after all, it is his art work and he
deserves compensation!

(Nov 28)My little sister is a knittin' fool. We shopped
all over for some good needles for her. She's been using
these kids plastic-y needles that I find to be really
uncomfortable and annoying. We tried some aluminum
needles but they were too slick and long. We finally
settled on some Clover Bamboo needles and from what I
have heard, she likes them the best. She's working on a
lavender scarf. I'll have my mom take a pic so I can
post it here.

(Nov 28) I'm back! Christmas Knitting and yarn stash
enhancement is in full effect in this house. There's a
new(?) Knitting/Fabric store in the town my mom lives
in. It's called Sew Krazy. image is property of sew-krazy.com
They are currently squeezed in a tiny location just
chock full of amazing stuff! They have a whole shelf of
Kaffe Fasset fabrics, which you know I loved. They
had lots of yarn by Rowan and Brown Sheep. They didn't
have any Debbie Bliss. The shop is working on expanding
in a new location, equipped with a beautiful fireplace
(My mom and I peeked through a hole in the door) and
it's HUGE. This place was great and there's a cafe
called Muddy Waters next door. So this place will be
perfect to sit down, relax, drink coffee, and knit by
the fireplace when I go out to visit for 3 weeks in
January. The building is also really beautiful and
contains many other interesting shops. Check it out if
you're ever nearby.

(Nov 18)Last year for Christmas, Mr. Handsome gave me an
EZ Stir. If you haven't got a clue what an easy-stir
is, (consider yourself lucky) it's a device that
attaches to your pots and pans and stirs your sauces for
you! Ingenious! I have still not taken the EZ Stir out
of its package. This year, I thought I'd make it easy on
my husband and anyone else who wishes to shower me with
gifts.
