8.31.2002

It's like 5:30 on a saturday morning, or something insane like that.

I woke up when Jon's alarm went off. HIS ALARM WENT OFF ON A SATURDAY. Well he's got to work this morning and I personally think that blows. Isn't it great when you're all excited to have a HOLIDAY weekend only to have it taken away from you by the end of the day friday. So this day is probably shot. Who knows though. Maybe he'll be back home by 10am or something.

Why am I awake? I might be tired. I'm not really sure (I almost typed "shore" so I guess that answers my question).

I'm afraid to go to school. I am amazed that I did all of this myself. If you know me, you will know that this was quite an accomplishment for me. Normally I am afraid to call people on the phone, and I went and did all of this. Now I have to put myself through meeting new people and actually having things to do and a schedule to work around!

I can't believe it's the end of august. I really can't. It's like we came back from vacation and summer was over. I love summer but I'm really excited about fall. I love fall and I love the beginning of winter, but I hate when you get into that winter/spring thing where everything is still dead wintery, but the snow is starting to melt so it's muddy and ugly out. I get the worst spring fever.

Sorry If I ramble, I am not awake yet.

8.26.2002

I love how the school is telling me my file is complete and then they tell me i have to come in and do 800 things because they're not sure if it's complete. this is nuts.

8.25.2002

Today is Sunday. You know what that means. Tomorrow is Monday. I hate Mondays.

Jon and I went out to dinner Friday night. We also went to the mall. He bought me 3 pairs of jeans and two bras. I'm taking one back because somehow it's too small. Saturday we slept all day. Well, not all day, but some of it. We went to the store and I got all of the notebooks and papers and junk I'll need for school (which is next wednesday) and then we came home and watched se7en.

Today Jon and I went to the Galleria, and I got a really cute pair of Rocket Dog shoes. I also got a red jansport backpack. I liked it. I wanted a pink one but Jon told me that is taking the whole pink thing a little too far, and I agreed that it might be a little fruity. Did I get anything else?? I can't remember. I saw some sweaters and hoodies I'm going to get.. I also found a cute pair of adidas that I'm getting. They're pink. It feels good to get new things. It's so damn rare, I am all excited and overwhelmed by it all. I mean, I get new things, but........... nevermind.

I need to color and cut my hair. It's getting pretty long. I brushed it all out today and was kind of amazed at how long it is. I've always had short hair so I never think of myself as someone with long hair. Jon and I were going into a restaurant the other day and I pointed at this girls hair and told him I couldn't wait til my hair is that long, and then i realized my hair is almost that long. I just can't stand the light parts in my hair from when I bleached it, dyed it pink, dyed it brown, dyed it black, ... for some reason none of the dyes will completely cover the bleach, so I just need to keep coloring it and cutting it, so it is camoflauged til I can get all of it cut off.

Devan's asleep in her crib. She's wearing a pair of pajamas that is too big for her. it's cute. I saw the cutest little baby nightgown at the baby gap online store, I want it but it's unreasonably priced. I wait til these things go on clearance, and then I snatch them up. I got a pajama set for her once, it was marked down from 29.99 to 4.00. that's the kind of prices I like.

8.21.2002

it's funny. when you're a little kid, you'd never in a million years think you'd be volunteerily listening to music that your parents listened to. Well that's exactly what I'm doing. I've been at time life, downloading the singers and song writers collection. I've moved on to the 80's. I'm a downloading fool today. I can't believe some of the stuff I've got in my collection now.

8.20.2002

well it's tuesday. i'm totally bored.

school starts soon. (sept 4) and I don't want to go anymore. i'm scared.

i've got the worst toothache. when i went to sears dental, i think the dentist hit the nerve on my tooth (or teeth) because i swear, i can't even sleep at night.. I'm tired all day. I know i need a root canal now. Thank you sears dental!!! thank you for making my life a living hell!!!

what i want is to move. i want to get a house. what the heck is with all the stupid money problems now. jon's car, my teeth, this, that and the other thing.

My PUHCATION!

Friday- I spent the whole day in bed. I was sick. I had an earache, cramps, and diarrhea. When Jon got home I sat around all mopey and sick and then we went out to Giovanni’s and had some food. Later that night we watched Lord of the Rings. I went to bed right before it ended (I saw it at the theater so I didn’t miss anything).

Saturday- I woke up early on Saturday and took a shower before anyone else got up. I spent the entire morning downloading music for the trip. I planned to bring my laptop and speakers so that Jon, Devan, and I would have music in our bedroom. We were ready to leave the house shortly after 3pm and stopped at Wal-Mart (to get beach towels and a&d ointment and training pants for Devan. We didn’t get to the beach house ‘til around 6. We almost immediately shed our clothes and ran down to the water. Devan came with us and she didn’t quite know what to make of the ocean. After she got a little more used to it and realized she didn’t need to be afraid, she wanted down, and got her feet wet. She liked the salt that the ocean left on her lips and she kept licking until we got back to the house and washed her off. Every time I wave rolled in; she’d raise her arms like she was on a roller coaster. We brought Devan back up to the house so Jon’s mom and dad could watch while we all went back down to the beach to get shells and traipse around along the shoreline. The waves were pretty rough and I ended up getting slapped around quite a bit. It wasn’t fun. I had a big lump of sand in my bathing suit and my lungs were burning from all the salt. I sat at the beach freezing, watching Jon and the boys play in the water. I started to feel a little nauseous so I called to Jon and we all went up to the house. After my shower, I went with Jon’s mom to the store, where we got some groceries. When we got back to the house we had pizza and wings from Domino’s. Jon and I took a walk and then went to bed.

Sunday – I can’t really remember Sunday. I’m sitting here racking my brain and it’s not helping. I just can’t remember.

Monday – Jon and I woke up early and took a walk on the beach. It was beautiful. I took some pictures of the sun reflecting off the water. For the most part they didn’t turn out, but I got one good one. There is nothing in the world more invigorating than walking on the beach. We sat around a lot on Monday and swam in the ocean. The water was very rough and there was a strong riptide. We kept getting pulled around. It sucked. I got the hell knocked out of me by one wave. While I was getting slammed around under water time sort of slowed down and just when I thought I couldn’t hold my breath anymore, I got knocked into next week by another wave. This time it hurt. I felt something crack or pop or something. All I know is that it hurt and I had to get out of the water and sit for a minute until I could breathe again. Eventually I got back in the water, but I was too scared of the big waves to have any fun, so we got out and ate lunch. We played Monopoly. Chris’ friend Bobby cheated, so we quit. We had lasagna for dinner and it was good. Jon and I took a walk and then we went to bed.

Tuesday – We woke up early and sat on the beach. We watched the sun rise. Jon’s dad was up too. He walked down the beach and I guess walked on the rocks. If I understand correctly, he fell in and couldn’t get out because they were slippery. It’s a good thing he got out; otherwise he could have drowned in there. We didn’t see what happened because it was still dark. When we got back to the house Jon’s dad took Devan to see the boats at the inlet and Jon and I took a little nap. When we woke up we went out to breakfast/lunch. I ate a salad (it sucked) and French fries (They were good). Jon spilled orange juice all over the table. Devan ate all of Jon’s home fries and none of the fries I got her. I can’t remember the rest of Tuesday, except that Jon peed in the ocean and the water was really cold except when his pee drifted over to me. Yea. I know it’s gross. We played monopoly and Jon won. Oh well.

Wednesday – Jon’s last day (he had to work Thursday and Friday) was spent at a different location on the beach. We floated around in the water, and then went searching for shells. When we got cold, I got out, wrapped my towel around my waist and read while Jon collected a bunch of little shells for me so I can do something I saw in Living. He got a bunch. I thought it was pretty darned nice of him to do that for me. We had hot dogs and French fries and really good macaroni salad that Jon’s mom made for dinner. I ate a lot. I can’t remember anything else from Wednesday.

Thursday- Thursday wasn’t a very exciting day. Jon went to work. I woke up with Devan and just kind of watched Martha Stewart and Christopher Lowell and dreamed about having my little cottage in the Pocono’s. We started a game of monopoly. Jon’s mom, dad, and brother went to Kmart or something so I cleaned up a little and read more of my book (Shadow of the Dolls, by the way). When Jon came ‘home’ we got changed and walked down to the inlet to eat at Carlson’s. We sat on the benches with Devan and watched fireworks. Devan was afraid of them, but when they would quiet down for a few seconds, Devan would yell “WOW!” When we got back to the house we watched television. After Jon went to bed we played some more of our Monopoly game, eliminating Jon’s mom (HAHA!) and we had to continue it the next day because we were tired. I went in to bed and said to Jon “you’re going to be 22” and he told me he doesn’t want to turn 22, he doesn’t want to get old. I told him when he’s 90 he’ll be old. Not 22, and we went to sleep. Friday – Well I woke up cause Devan was tickling my feet and yelling “MOOOOMMMMM” so I got her changed and took her for a walk. We went down to the inlet where Jon’s dad and brother were fishing. (They didn’t catch anything). I walked back to the house with them and then Chris and I finished our monopoly game. I won! To the victor go the spoils and all that jazz. Seriously though, I would have won a lot sooner, but as soon as I’d put all the hotels down (I think I had 15 in all) I would land on community chest or whatever, and have to pay assessment fees on all of it. Crazy. I had like 2/3 of the board. Anyways I won, so why am I complaining? Jon’s mom, dad, and brother went to Island Beach state park, and I stayed with Devan. We sat together on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, and watched Looney tunes. Sometimes when I look at Devan it just blows me away. I get all misty eyed and philosophical and all of that stuff and it’s really quite crazy. I can’t believe I have such a wonderful little girl. So I would lean in close and squeeze her from time to time, just to make sure she’s not all in my imagination. I finished my book and waited for Jon to come home. When he did, we ate pizza and then I went to bed.

Saturday – Welp, I woke up at around 8:30 and ate a cold piece of pizza. Then we packed and left. We just got home about an hour ago and I just finished checking my e-mail and all of that. I’m really tired and I want to take a nap.

8.10.2002

Hi. in honor of my brother rick's birthday, I made this picture. Hope you like it dood! I will be at the shore til next saturday. If I know you and you know my cell phone number and you need to get ahold of me, Call me. If you know me and you don't know my cell phone number, call my mom. If you don't know me and you don'tknow my cell, well then I guess you're screwed. Love you all.

8.06.2002

I've not been keeping up with this as well as I should be. Jon and I are back from Ohio. The trip was hell. I swear, if I hadn't stopped and gone to the bathroom and gotten out of that car for a few minutes, the road rage would have taken over and you would have heard about me on the news Sunday night. I was going crazy. There was a buttload of construction which caused some major delays. We were like an hour and a half late getting home. Devan was pissed the whole time, she could see Jon in his car, and my guess is that she wanted to sit with him more than me,since I was a crazed lunatic, practically in tears towards the end of the trip.

I didn't see Zach while I was in Ohio and I am kind of bummed about that. I saw his picture (there's a link in the entry below this) and he looks totally cute and happy. I like little babies a lot.

Tonight when we got home from our pointless trip to the mall, Devan had a surprise-- a little tiny broom and dustpan (she's always trying to clean stuff, now she's got her own!) I put her bonnet on her and she looked cute. I made a little movie of her playing with the mop that came with the set but you don't need to see that.

I got a wireless thing for my laptop and now I can go on the internet out in the living room or at the table and maybe even outside. That's cool.

I totally miss Ohio and my mom and stuff. I like some things about new jersey, but ohio is just overall better and quieter and I think it has more to offer ME at the moment. like super-cute houses that don't cost $200,000+

ok. I'm going to bed.

8.01.2002

Hi. I can't update you right now, my friend kate's on her way over, but I have something to show you right here. It's 5 pictures of zach that my brother sent me. Isn't he cute?!

(Nov 19) I've been asked to make a Christmas wish list, so here it is. Click on Santa to view it!

(Dec 11) I am unable to sleep, so I took time to make the blog archives work. of course, images that were on old yahoo server do not work anymore (read: anything before April 2005) so you'll have to use your imagination. Check the sidebar for a link if you're interested.

Christmas Wishlist!

(Nov 22) There. I finally did it. Now go buy me stuff:)
.......................

(Nov 7)Take note of the changes along the right sidebar. I've been reading blogs, and that, of course, means joining knitalongs! However my next task (which will be my next announcement) is to create a holiday wishlist, as there have been several people asking for one.
.......................

(Aug 6) Hi guys, How cute is this: I have a new little niece!! Bryan and Mandie's little girl was born last Sunday (I think)

and in the spirit of utter ridiculousness, I give you, Madelyn dancing.
.......................

(June 1) Here is a little picture. Obviously, these are BF5 lyrics.

.......................

(May 23) Sup dudes? I was kinda bored last night, so I made a picture.

again. only tell me if you like it. I have a fragile ego.
.......................

(May 14) Going through a wave of depression. Don't feel like doing anything except artwork. Here are a couple pictures I made. You may have seen them, since they're meant for my websites. If you've seen them as background images, excuse the tiling, I'm fixing it when I feel like it.

if you like them, let me know. if you don't, keep it to yourself.

(April 28) Ok... I've been on hiatus. Bear with me and my broken links and pictures while I move all my junk around.
Life is good and I'm glad my site is working again.
.......................

(Jan 11) Due to real life pals/family complaining about how little real life content there is in this journal, I'm going to make a real effort to include that stuff, and not just knitting stuff. I hope this pleases you guys.
.......................

(Jan 10) Today is the anniversary of my Grampa's death. We still miss you so much.
.......................

(Jan 4) Congratulations Michael & Tiffany!!
Welcome to the family, Tif!
.......................

(Dec 30) Just two quick notes today:
1. We've got another completed Casey's Coat. click to see Vito!
2. I'll be out of town for about 3 weeks. My brother, Mike, is getting married! After that I'm going to be house sitting for my mom while she is out of town. This will not have an affect on you or my blogging, I just felt like sharing.
.......................

(Dec 2) My brother has been making me some pretty cool knitting charts. I think they're mighty awesome and I'm trying to figure out a project I can use them for. They're pdf files, except the first one (which is actually not his design, it's the work of someone on myspace.com) so go ahead and have at them. If he makes many more charts, I'll disable the links and offer the chart patterns for a small fee via paypal, because, after all, it is his art work and he deserves compensation!

(Nov 28)My little sister is a knittin' fool. We shopped all over for some good needles for her. She's been using these kids plastic-y needles that I find to be really uncomfortable and annoying. We tried some aluminum needles but they were too slick and long. We finally settled on some Clover Bamboo needles and from what I have heard, she likes them the best. She's working on a lavender scarf. I'll have my mom take a pic so I can post it here.
.......................

(Nov 28) I'm back! Christmas Knitting and yarn stash enhancement is in full effect in this house. There's a new(?) Knitting/Fabric store in the town my mom lives in.  It's called Sew Krazy.

image is property of sew-krazy.com

They are currently squeezed in a tiny location just chock full of amazing stuff! They have a whole shelf of Kaffe Fasset fabrics, which you know I loved.  They had lots of yarn by Rowan and Brown Sheep. They didn't have any Debbie Bliss. The shop is working on expanding in a new location, equipped with a beautiful fireplace (My mom and I peeked through a hole in the door) and it's HUGE. This place was great and there's a cafe called Muddy Waters next door. So this place will be perfect to sit down, relax, drink coffee, and knit by the fireplace when I go out to visit for 3 weeks in January. The building is also really beautiful and contains many other interesting shops. Check it out if you're ever nearby.
.....................

(Nov 20)Someone's used my pattern! Yesss! As you may know, Casey's Coat was published in Debbie Stoller's follow-up to Stitch n' Bitch, Stitch n' Bitch Nation. Today I was looking at the livejournal.com knitting
community and saw that someone actually used my pattern! Sweet, right?
.....................

(Nov 18)Last year for Christmas, Mr. Handsome gave me an EZ Stir. If you haven't got a clue what an easy-stir is, (consider yourself lucky) it's a device that attaches to your pots and pans and stirs your sauces for you! Ingenious! I have still not taken the EZ Stir out of its package. This year, I thought I'd make it easy on my husband and anyone else who wishes to shower me with gifts.
ho, ho, ho!
